Fairy tales before going to sleep this time raise the title The Story of the Sun and the Moon, Mother. Here’s the full story.
Did you know? Actually the sun and the moon are a pair of brother and sister you know. The sun, the older brother, loves his younger brother, the Moon. Likewise with the Moon who always goes wherever his brother goes.
When the rooster crows, the Sun rushes down to the earth to radiate its light, so that the inhabitants of the earth can cook, dry clothes, and grow crops in the fields. When the sun greets with its warm rays, the inhabitants of the earth wave their hands and greet them warmly.
“O Sun, thank you for lighting us up today… behold, all my plants are thriving because of your warm light.”
“Thank you again Uncle farmer.”
replied the sun in a friendly manner.
“Good morning Sun, thank you for shining on us…look at all my clothes dry because of your bright light.”
Auntie looked happy because all the clothes were dry.
“Wow…thank you again Auntie.”
The sun smiles happily to see the inhabitants of the earth can move with the help of its rays.
But the moon looks gloomy
“O brother Moon, what’s wrong? Why do you look gloomy?”
“Brother, why does everyone greet you while I don’t? Is it because my light is not as bright as yours?” asked the Moon with a gloomy face.
“Hmm…of course not sister, it seems they are in a hurry to continue their work. There’s no need to be sad…let’s continue around the earth again, let’s shine our warm light on them.”
Then they went around again, shining on the earth together.
The next day, a rooster crows loudly. But the Sun does not seem ready to descend to earth.
Moon looks confused and searches for her sister, the Sun.
“Brother Sun, why aren’t you getting ready to descend to earth yet?” Moon asked his brother who was still lying on his bed.
“Brother Moon, it seems yesterday I was too excited to shine on the earth, and now my body feels really tired.”
“Wow … then what about the inhabitants of the earth, sis? Surely they will be in trouble if we don’t illuminate them,” said Bulan in confusion.
“Hmm … what if today you come down to earth without me, Moon’s sister?”
“Wow… I don’t dare brother.”
“I’m sure you can do it, little brother Bulan. The inhabitants of the earth will be happy and greet you warmly.”
Moon’s eyes sparkled at the thought of the inhabitants of the earth greeting him in a friendly manner, as when they greeted his brother, the Sun.
“All right sister Sun … I will come down to earth and illuminate the inhabitants of the earth with my rays.”
Excitedly, the Moon descended to earth. He prepared the brightest light, also the sweetest smile for the inhabitants of the earth.
When he came down to earth, he immediately approached Uncle Farmer.
“It seems Farmer Uncle needs my light so that his crops can thrive,” Moon muttered to herself
“Hello Farmer uncle, how are you today? Are your crops growing well?” asked the Moon kindly.
“Oh .. hello Moon, I’m waiting for your brother, Matahari. Look, all my plants withered because the Sun did not shine today,” replied Uncle farmer glumly.
The moon looked sad to hear the story from the farmer’s uncle, then rushed off to find Aunt who dried her laundry in the morning.
“Good morning Auntie, how are you today? Is all your laundry dry?” Moon asked Aunt who was drying clothes.
“Good morning beautiful moon…look at all my laundry is still wet, none is dry because the sun is not shining today.”
Auntie’s face was gloomy, just like the face of a farmer’s uncle.
The moon became more and more sad, then decided to return to the sky.
That day the earth became pitch black, without the presence of the Sun and Moon. The inhabitants of the earth can not move as usual. The plants withered, the children could not study, and none of their laundry dried.
“Sister Moon, why come back? What about the inhabitants of the earth?”
The sun looked confused to see the Moon returned to the sky early.
“Brother… I’m so sad, it turns out that my light is not as bright as yours, I can’t illuminate the earth like you.” Moon’s face looked increasingly gloomy.
“Brother, it’s just like this… how about we take turns irradiating the earth? From morning to evening, I will light up the earth, so that the inhabitants of the earth can continue their activities, and plants can thrive.”
“Then when is it my turn?”
“Well…you will illuminate the earth when it is time for the inhabitants of the earth to rest. At night, your gentle light will accompany them to rest, joke with their families at home, until they fall asleep. How about it? Agree?”
“Wow… good idea, I agree sis.”
Finally, since then, the Sun and Moon have alternately shone on the earth. The inhabitants of the Earth are very happy to see the Sun again shining on the earth in the morning.
Plants can thrive again. And at night, they can rest comfortably, with the moonlight shining on them gently.
