For the 12th time, the Children’s Culture Week shows how diverse and lively the cultural offerings for young people in Linz are. More than 230 events and activities, ranging from music and dance to theater and exciting workshops, invite you to go on a journey of discovery. Whether Theater Phönix, Ars Electronica Center or city library – 34 cultural institutions from Linz offer a program that is second to none. What’s particularly nice is that many events are free and aimed at children of all ages.

Culture and creativity for every age group

The city of Linz and the Kuddelmuddel children’s cultural center have, together with many cultural partners, created an impressive variety of offerings that make art, culture and creativity tangible for the youngest. From trying out different dance styles to literary readings to participatory theater – there is something for every child!

There are special offers for children aged one and over, such as the interactive format “Traces”, a musical journey with colors and paper. For the older ones, museums such as the Nordico or the Ars Electronica Center offer exciting programs that are all about Anton Bruckner. On the “AnTon and Tones” tour at the Ars Electronica Center, for example, children can explore the music of the famous composer, while at Nordico they can search for traces of Bruckner’s personality in “Who is Toni?”

Attention theater lovers! Children’s Culture Week opens at the Maestro Theater on October 9th at 4:30 p.m. with an enchanting ballet performance of “The Colorful Shoes,” accompanied by Bruckner’s music. And if you want to dance yourself, you can try out a few steps at a workshop.

A special highlight: the Linz Children’s and Youth Book Days

The Linz Children’s and Youth Book Days from October 10th to 12th are one of the largest reading promotion events in Upper Austria. Exciting readings, entertaining book theater and a book exhibition with more than 3,000 titles await young visitors at the Linz Chamber of Labor. Particularly recommended: the play “Charlie’s Chocolate Factory”, performed by students, and the reading of “The Nohorn” – fun for the whole family!
