SÜW – The district of Südliche Weinstraße organizes “Aufspiel!”, the children’s and youth theater days of the district, in cooperation with the Chawwerusch Theater from July 11th to 13th.

The festival is taking place this year in the Haus des Gastes in Bad Bergzabern, supported by the Sparkasse Südliche Weinstraße Foundation.

During the three days of the event, eight theater groups from the region will be presenting the plays or scenes they have worked on in advance. The performances last between ten and 45 minutes. The other participating groups and guests sit in the audience – because the presentations are public. Parents, family, friends and anyone interested are cordially invited to the performances.

The dates of the performances and further information on the program are available online at www.suedliche-weinstrasse.de/de/landkreis/jugend/aufgespielt.php and under www.chawwerusch.de/aufgespielt/

At Aufspiel, participants can choose from various workshops, deepen their knowledge and get tips and suggestions from professionals. In addition to beatboxing, hip-hop performance and circus, there are also offers for stage presence, improvisation and masked theater to choose from. The theater days, as well as the production phase, i.e. the preparatory phase, are accompanied by theater teachers and professional actors from the Chawwerusch Theater in Herxheim.

Spectators are to Opening Ceremony on Tuesday 11 July at 9.15am warmly invited. There is also the opportunity to gain impressions of the cultural work with children and young people in the region at the diverse public presentations of the theater groups.

As part of its activities under the motto “Hand in hand of young and old”, the senior citizens’ advisory board of the district of Südliche Weinstraße has announced that it wants to attend the events in order to make this leitmotif concrete. All seniors are invited to attend the public presentations of the theater days as guests. They can also exchange ideas with the young people during the debriefing sessions on the plays.

Interested independent theater groups, working groups or school groups are welcome to apply or obtain information about participation next year. More information is available at www.suedliche-weinstraße.de.
