Children who died due to dengue fever in Bandung increased to 7 people

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG — The number of children in the city of Bandung who died from Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) continues to grow. Last June, 6 children died, while in July it increased to 7 children.

“Yes, that’s right (seven people),” said the Head of Disease Management and Prevention at the Bandung City Health Office, Ira Dewi Jani, when confirmed, Sunday (24/7/2022).

He said that previously, the ages of children who died from dengue fever were between one and nine years old. His party noted that in January there were 1,225 dengue cases, 738 in February, 457 in March, 158 in April and 328 in May.

Meanwhile, in the second week of June, there were already 7 people who had dengue fever. He said the cause of the death of the child was yet to be ascertained. Because the analysis, must refer to the medical results obtained.

“Still don’t know whether it was too late to be taken to the hospital or late to detect the disease,” he said.

Currently, his party has sent a letter of vigilance to the region and health facilities to anticipate. Ways that can be done through fogging activities and cleaning the environment.

“We want to say that fogging is not a way to deal with dengue, there are three humans, a vector and a virus,” he said. Efforts are being made to eradicate mosquitoes by actively cleaning the environment through clean Fridays.
