Surabaya. Public Info – Starting October 22, 2021, children under the age of 12 will be allowed to ride the train again after being banned.

The regulation adapts to the issuance of the Ministry of Transportation’s SE Number 89 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Rail Transportation During the Covid-19 Pandemic Period on October 20, 2021.

“Even though they are allowed to return, children under 12 years old still have to meet requirements such as negative results of Covid-19 examinations for long-distance train customers, wearing masks perfectly, in good health, and always implementing health protocols in a disciplined manner,” said the Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Luqman Arif Monday (25/10/2021)..

Children under 12 years old who will take the train must also be accompanied by their parents/family as evidenced by a Family Card.

Here are the complete requirements for traveling by train:

1. Long-distance and Local Train customers are required to show a vaccine card at least for the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination.

– Customers under the age of 12 are not required to show a vaccine card.

– For customers with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that prevent them from receiving vaccines, they must attach a doctor’s certificate from a government hospital stating that the person concerned has not and/or is unable to take the Covid-19 vaccination.

2. Long-distance train customers are required to show a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results a maximum of 2×24 hours or Antigen Rapid Test a maximum of 1×24 hours before the scheduled departure.

Starting August 31, 2021, local train customers are required to enter the Resident Identification Number (NIK) in the identity number column when ordering tickets. Meanwhile, long-distance trains are valid from 26 October 2021.

The use of this NIK applies to adult or child customers in order to support government programs in an effort to use the NIK in all public service sectors.

In addition, the use of this NIK also aims to validate the vaccination status and Covid-19 examination of prospective customers. This is because KAI has integrated the PeduliLindung application with the KAI boarding system. (MC Diskominfo East Java Province/non-HJR/toeb)
