Children play in the water system in Nuremberg and get sick

Nürnberg . After several children played in the fountain field in a Nuremberg park and then fell ill, the city has now closed the facility. Four reports about children complaining of symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases were received by the Nuremberg health department last weekend, a city spokesman said on Wednesday.

The water system in Cramer-Klett-Park in the Wöhrd district is now closed – the city has ordered water samples. “The system will be blocked until the water quality has been checked and proven to be flawless,” it said.

According to the city, the children’s symptoms had subsided after one or two days. The parents suspect an infection with possibly contaminated water.
