Children perform a play in the Centipede daycare center

Press release from October 21, 2024

Part of the project “Every child has their own art”

“Oh dear, the frog is gone!” was the motto on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the theater performance in the Millipede daycare center. The play that the daycare children put on was about a missing weather frog.

The rats had kidnapped the frog because they loved it dark and cold. Together with the mosquito “Hosenmatz” the sun children went on a search. They were able to free the weather frog by singing with the rats. A good compromise was then found for everyone involved by singing, so that all the rats, sun children and mosquitoes as well as the weather frog lived peacefully together. With the song “We are all different, at most similar, but we are never the same,” the children managed to captivate the audience. The parents present rewarded the little actors with thunderous applause.

The preschool children practiced a lot for several days for the performance. Costumes were tried on, lyrics were learned and new songs were rehearsed. The trained actress Julia Stephanie Schmitt accompanied the children as part of the “Every Child His Art” project, which is supported by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Working on the play opened up new fields of experience for many children and the texts they had learned were confidently presented to the audience. The daycare center is pleased to have been part of the “Every Child His Art” project.
