The queen made a caustic remark on seeing her nephew for the first time.
Princess Diana’s relationship with the royal family hasn’t been an easy one. The wife of Prince Charles, now King Charles III of Great Britain, has always said she felt superfluous and alien at Buckingham Palace. However, there were bright moments in her life at court.
Lady Di was happier than ever when she gave birth to her husband Prince William’s first child. They say that it was after this relationship that the spouses, even if not for long, still got better. Charles was incredibly grateful to her beloved for giving the country the heir to the throne.
“This is an extraordinary event that means more to me than I could have imagined. I have always been close to Diana, for which I was rewarded by seeing a little creature that belongs to us”. – this is how Charles described the birth of his wife.
Queen Elizabeth II was also grateful to Diana, but for a completely different reason. Seeing her grandson for the first time, her Majesty uttered the following words: “Thank God, she doesn’t have the same father ears as her.” By the way, rumors later appeared that Lady Dee did not give birth to Charles at all, however, they concerned not William, but his youngest son, Prince Harry.
