The XI Mechanized Brigade of the Argentinian army This Friday, at the facilities of the Río Gallegos Garrison, an emotional event was held in commemoration of the Argentine National Anthem Daywhich will be celebrated tomorrow, Saturday, May 11.
The event was attended by 4th grade students from the Provincial Primary Schools No. 10 “Hipólito de Yrigoyen”, No. 46 “Latin American Integration” y No. 62 “Dr. “Rene Favaloro”who witnessed a garrison formation and a special presentation of the Military Band “Combatants of the South Atlantic”.
During the presentation, the band narrated the history and meaning of the Argentine National Anthem, using simple and accessible language for children. The students were thus able to understand the importance of this national symbol and its value for national identity.
In this regard, the commander of the XI Mechanized Brigade, senior colonel Gustavo Sivoriexplained that this activity is part of a series of meetings that the Army will hold in view of the promise of the flag of the fourth grade students, to be held on June 20.
“Every Friday this month we are going to receive the fourth grade children from the schools to begin this fantastic path towards the promise of the flag, on July 20,” he commented in dialogue with Radio LU12 AM680.
After the Anthem Day activity, the schedule will continue “on Friday the 17th on Rosette Daythe other Friday by the First National Government and then on May 25, well, the activities that are planned in the province,” Sívori explained.
Finally, the commander of the military garrison of Rio gallegos announced that for next May 29, the date on which the Argentine Army Day Community activities are also planned.
“We are going to do what we call ‘open days’, where all our citizens will be able to come to the barracks to tour it, get to know it and see it.
