Rapporteur: – Feels with relatives

– This is a tragic event that affects the entire municipality. We sympathize with the relatives, says mayor of Ringsaker municipality Anita Ihle Steen to VG.

Steen says that the municipality has previous experiences with tragedies and that she knows that society is united.

– We have seen that the local community stands up for each other when difficult events occur. We are the Inland’s largest municipality, but we are still a small municipality where everyone knows everyone. Then it is easier to show care and consideration for each other, she says.

An inter-municipal crisis team has been set up to support the family, but on Monday the municipality’s own crisis team will take over. Then, in consultation with the relatives, we will try to find out what they need help and support for, she says.

Prost in Ringsaker municipality, Gerd Christensen, tells VG that the case is deeply tragic.

– The church will assist as much as we can in such tragic situations. It will be in consultation with relatives. We think this is a deeply tragic event, and we feel very much for the relatives, she says.

The case is being updated.
