On August 11, the country dressed up for a party to commemorate Children’s Day, a date that, although officially celebrated on the third Wednesday of October, has been adopted by the Chamber of Commerce to be celebrated on the first Sunday of August. This tradition, which dates back to 1976, has established a special day to entertain the little ones in the house.
The day was marked by spring weather, which allowed many families to go out and enjoy outdoor activities. Squares, parks and other public spaces were filled with laughter and games, while children enjoyed an unforgettable day, full of moments that prioritized emotional contact and family togetherness, combined with creativity and willingness to play, which became the best setting for children.
Beyond the material gifts, the emphasis of the celebration was on sharing a day full of love and fun. Special breakfasts, family outings, favorite meals and recreational activities became the best way for those crazy little ones to feel like the most special beings on the planet.
A celebration that offers us the opportunity to take care of them, to pamper them with what we love and from the heart, valuing emotional contact and quality time more than giving material gifts or the latest toy.
In addition to being an occasion to celebrate, this day also served to remember the importance of childhood and to make children visible as subjects of rights, within the framework of the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, carried out on August 14, 1990.
Thus, every first weekend in August, families renew their commitment to the well-being and happiness of their little ones, valuing quality time over material objects.
