When no one showed up after the cabin crew asked if there was a doctor on board, they stepped in themselves and helped a 26-year-old Afghan woman give birth to her child 30,000 feet above the ground, according to the news agency Demiroren.
The birth started shortly after the Turkish Airlines plane with Soman Noori and her husband took off from Dubai on a course for Birmingham. It landed in Kuwait for safety after birth, but both mother and child were healthy enough for the plane to continue.
Soman and her family were evacuated from Kabul to Dubai, where they continued on to Birmingham, where they arrived with their two young sons and their newborn daughter.
