Another COVID prevention mandate comes into effect on Tuesday.
Children between 5 and 11 years old will have to show proof that they have received at least one dose of the vaccine to eat in restaurants, go to a gym or attend a performance hall, be it cinema or theater.
Minors must also be vaccinated if they want to participate in extracurricular activities, whether in sports or culture, such as orchestras.
Similarly, children will also need to show proof of vaccination if they want to attend a Broadway show and be accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult. Masks will be required in theaters.
The most recent data shows that 31% of children in New York have at least one dose of the vaccine.
