Several people have been arrested and suspected of attempted murder after a shooting episode in Flemingsberg south of Stockholm. Two children aged five and six are injured.

Swedish police were notified of a shooting in Flemingsberg in Huddinge municipality at around 8 pm on Saturday night, writes Expressen.
– Two people are injured and transported to hospital, says Mats Eriksson, press spokesman for the Stockholm police, to the newspaper. The police are said to have found empty shell casings in two places in connection with the shooting.

The police state that the two who are injured are children aged five and six. They were out playing on a footbridge when the shooting occurred. They should not have been the target of the shots that were fired, but were hit completely randomly as passers-by.
Both should have injuries to the legs. There should be no talk of life-threatening injuries.
Another person was injured, Expressen is informed.

The Swedish Minister of the Interior strongly condemns what happened to the Swedish telegram agency TT.
– That the violence takes place in an environment where innocent children are, shows a total indifference and ruthlessness, writes Minister of the Interior Mikael Damberg (S) in a statement.
Aftonbladet states that a total of nine people have been arrested in connection with the shooting.
The course of events is currently unclear. The police are interrogating the suspects, and it is possible that more will be arrested.
About two weeks ago, a man in his mid-20s was shot and killed in Flemingsberg. According to the police, it is too early to say whether there is any connection between the weekend’s incident and the murder.
