5-year-olds are the group with the highest influenza vaccine attendance, according to SSM report
Morelia, Michoacán.- Vaccination against the flu in children under the age of five has entered the medical units of the Ministry of Health of Michoacán (SSM)with 86,969 doses applied from October 15 to today.
In the period between October 15, 2024 and March 30, 2025, the SSM aims to provide more than 500,000 doses of the vaccine.
To date, they have achieved 39.5% of this goal, paying particular attention to groups such as children under five years of age, older adults, people with comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity, and pregnant women.

The biological substance is administered in children under the age of 18 months on the left thigh and in children older than this age in the left arm.
Between 6 and 59 months of age, two doses are given four weeks apart, followed by an annual dose.
There are very few vaccine side effects in children, limited to sensitivity in the application area, pain, redness and muscle pain or headache, which does not last more than three days.
