Childlike “February 2” Inheritance of friendship between China and foreign countries- China Daily

On February 20th, when the traditional festival “February 2” is approaching, Wanxin Community in Qufu, Xiyuan Street, Weihai Economic Development Zone, and the co-construction unit Ai Dadi Kindergarten jointly launched the “Children’s February 2 Sino-foreign Friendship Inheritance” activity. Parent-child families and foreign friends in the jurisdiction are invited to gather together to dance spring dragons, wear dragon tails, cut dragons and phoenixes, and experience and inherit traditional folk culture.

At the dragon and lion dance scene, the sound of gongs and drums shook people’s hearts, and the wonderful performances of the team members won rounds of applause from the audience. In the handicraft session, under the guidance of the teacher, Kim, a friend from the United States, and the children stringed together colored fabrics, colored beads and straws, etc., and personally experienced the custom of “February 2” – “wearing Dragon Tail”. “I am very happy to ‘wear the dragon’s tail’ with the children today. The traditional Chinese folk custom is really interesting. The teacher said that the dragon’s tail means auspiciousness, and I wish everyone good luck in the new year.” Kim said happily.

In recent years, Wanxin Community in Qufu, Xiyuan Street, Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone has actively integrated high-quality cultural resources. Through the establishment of interconnection, integration and co-construction, it has carried out cultural activities that Chinese and foreign residents love to see, and truly realized the “harmonious Wanxin” family.
