HOUSTON – Starting this Friday, December 16, you can take your children from 6 months of age to receive the anti-COVID-19 boosted dose, which provides protection against strains of the Omicron variant.

The Harris County Department of Public Health said Pfizer’s “bivalent” dose is for children 6 months to 4 years old and Moderna’s will be for children 6 months to 5 years old.

Injections are available at various immunization centers in Harris County.

The event occurred southwest of the city.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends boosting children in this age group who have already received their basic schedule of COVID-19 vaccines.
