Childhood cancer: early diagnosis allows good treatment, assures Dr Gisele Kilomba

When childhood cancer is diagnosed early and treated, the child can be cured, assured the director of the Clinique Ma Famille, Dr Gisèle Kilomba. She said it Monday, February 15, during the celebration of the international day against cancer.

Dr Gisèle Kilomba, said that after childbirth, a child should be followed up to the age of five.

“Children are not treated at random: we need to monitor pregnancy from birth, until around five years old. Because it is often at this early age that cancer is detected. And we have kids that was diagnosed early, they’re healed, and today they’re grown up that had cancer of some sort. It is not inevitable, there is the solution ”, she soothed.

As part of the follow-up, Dr Kilomba also offers a very good diet that can prevent cancer in children.

On the occasion of the International Day against Cancer, health professionals from Beni in North Kivu indicated that this disease attacks children from conception, and represents the second cause of death, after everyday accidents. .

“I sympathize with all the children who suffer from this cancer and I really reiterate to the parents to bring the children to the clinicians to detect certain pathologies”, advised Dr Gisèle Kilomba.
