Offer is being rolled out widely
In Upper Austria around 1,600 children have already been vaccinated off-label. The approval by the EMA was given on Thursday, the recommendation of the National Vaccination Board (NIG) is imminent. In Upper Austria there will be the first “off-label vaccination campaigns” for children between the ages of five and 12 this weekend. Up to 2,000 of them are offered.
“The vaccination requirement for children from five to 12 years of age will be another important component in the fight against the pandemic. It is important to us that the doctors have enough time to talk to their legal guardians, ”says LH Deputy. and health officer Christine Haberlander.
Around 2,600 people have so far made use of the preregistration for children. In Upper Austria, in addition to children’s vaccination days, vaccinations take place at the vaccination streets, especially at the pediatricians and family doctors. It is important that the legal guardians can be given sufficient information about the vaccination.
