Child pornography collector from Geldrop ‘maintained the market for years’

A 24-year-old man from Geldrop has been demanded four years in prison and TBS with conditions for possessing and distributing child pornography and sexual contact with three underage boys. The man worked as a cyber specialist for the police and was a scout leader in Eindhoven.

The police tracked down the man in a major investigation into child pornography on the dark web, a part of the internet that you can’t just find with search engines. The investigation led to a computer belonging to a foundation whose man was responsible for IT management.

The suspect was arrested at his home in April last year. Computer screens were open showing child pornography. Police found a total of four devices with incriminating material, mostly images of 10-15-year-old boys.

‘Normalized child abuse’

The man is said to have been distributing child pornography since 2012. “For years, the defendant has maintained and facilitated the market for child pornography,” said the public prosecutor at the hearing today. “For years he has normalized the abuse of children because of this.”

The survey also found that the man had sexual contact with three 15-year-olds. According to the Public Prosecution Service, he gave his victims homework assistance and arranged internships. The OM calls it “extremely calculating” how he won the confidence of the boys and their parents in this way. Later, he invited them to sleepovers, showed them porn, and had threesomes with them.

Chances of recurrence high

According to the public prosecutor, the chance of recurrence is high. “The suspect seems to be aware of his unlawful actions, but does not see the seriousness of this because he labels himself as a victim and denies his actions.”

The judge will give a ruling in two weeks, reports Broadcasting Brabant.
