“Child in Critical Condition after Serious Car Accident in Oradea, Romania”

Two people were injured on Wednesday evening, after two cars collided on Şantului Street in Oradea, not far from the Fishermen’s Inn. A child is in a very serious condition, in code red.

According to chief commissioner Alina Fărcuța, the spokesperson of the Bihor Police, the event was announced by 112 at 19:26, the cause to be determined through investigations.

“From the first investigations, two cars were involved in the road accident. Two people suffered injuries, and they are currently receiving medical attention on the spot,” the Police representative said.

At the time of publishing this news, road traffic is blocked in the area of ​​the accident. “The traffic police are to carry out the investigation on the spot, to establish the causes and circumstances of the road accident”, Alina Fărcuța also transmitted.

The moment of the impact was captured by the surveillance cameras located on a nearby building.

From them it can be seen how, upon exiting a curve, a green car inexplicably enters the opposite direction and collides head-on with a black Renault, which was driving normally and which, as a result of the impact, is projected into the ditch.

Incarcerated victim

According to the spokesperson of the Crișana Emergency Situations Inspectorate, lieutenant colonel Camelia Roșca, two adults and a child were involved in the accident.

A woman remained incarcerated in the Renault car.

“The extrication crew evacuated a woman who was trapped in one of the damaged cars, and the medical crews and paramedic firefighters treated the child and the two injured adults at the scene, then transported them to the Hospital’s Emergency Department Bihor County Clinic”, says ISU.

The mobile intensive care team of SMURD Oradea and three crews from Detachments 1 and 2 of the Oradea Fire Department were mobilized to the scene, with a heavy extrication truck, a water and foam work truck with extrication mode and an ambulance SMURD type B2, as well as a crew of the County Ambulance Service.

UPDATE, 8:41 p.m.: The child is in a very serious condition

From the information provided by the medical crews, the child is in serious condition (red medical code), his mother, released by the firefighters, is in medical yellow code, and the third victim has minor injuries, Camelia Roșca said.

UPDATE, 8:53 p.m.: The victims were taken to the hospital, traffic partially resumed

According to the spokesperson of the Bihor Police, chief commissioner Alina Fărcuța, traffic in the area has been resumed on one lane, so it is moving alternately.

The victims were transported to the hospital, she added.

UPDATE, 9:30 p.m.: The boy is in a coma

According to Dr. Hadrian Borcea, the head of UPU SMURD Bihor, the child, an 8-10-year-old boy, suffered a severe head injury and is in a coma, being assisted by a ventilator. Neurosurgeons are analyzing the child’s condition to decide if he needs surgery this very evening.

The boy’s mother suffered fractures to her lower limbs and is in a stable condition.

The driver of the other car involved in the accident suffered minor injuries, said Dr. Borcea.
