BRUSSELS, KOMPAS.com – Child of the results an affair ex King of Belgium, Albert II, is trying to get the court to grant his request so that he gets the right and title nobility the same as the king’s children from a legal marriage.
Delphine Boel, 52, filed a lawsuit in court in Brussels after in January Albert II finally admitted he was Boel’s real father. Yet for more than a decade he has persisted in opposing Boel’s claims.
Boel’s mother, Baroness Sybille de Selys Longchamps, claims to have had an 18-year “affair” with Albert before the man became king.

Rumors that Albert had children from an affair first surfaced in 1999 in an unofficial biography about Albert’s wife, Queen Paola. This has sparked constant coverage of the scandal within the Belgian royal court.
Boel was first recorded accusing King Albert II of being his real father when he was interviewed in 2005.
However, it was only after Albert stepped down from the throne – and at the same time lost his immunity from the law – did Boel file a lawsuit in court.
His lawyer said on Thursday that he wanted the same rights as Albert’s three other children, Philippe (who now sits as the king of Belgium), Prince Laurent, and Princess Astrid.
“Delphine’s position is not about whether or not she wants to be a princess,” said lawyer Marc Uyttendaele.
“He doesn’t want to be a discount boy, he wants the same privileges, titles and capacities as his brothers and sisters.”

Various reports suggest Boel’s children can get titles nobility if the court grants his request.
