Child Found Unconscious Underwater After Swimming Incident in Norheimsund

(Bergensavisen / Nettavisen): A minor child was found underwater after swimming in Norheimsund.

Operations manager Tatjana Knappen in the West police district tells BA. The police received the report at 1442.

– There have been several children who have probably bathed together, and then one child was suddenly no longer visible, says the operations manager.

Bergens Tidende writes this about the case:

– The condition must be critical, but beyond that we do not know anything about the state of health, says acting police station chief in Kvam, Ann-May Garen.

After a short time, the child was found unconscious underwater and taken out of the water. The person was also in the process of being flown to Haukeland hospital shortly before 4 p.m.

A local crisis team has also been activated.

– The child is probably around five years old. Life-saving first aid has been carried out, says Anne May Garen, police superintendent and acting police station chief in Kvam, to BA.
