“It can be pointed out that it is a chronic sexual abuse, repeated over time and has a long history,” says Francisco Ceballos, from the PDI’s Sex Crimes Investigative Brigade, about the case known through the network Social Tiktok of Jose Collío, a 61-year-old man who appears in a video apparently touching the private parts of a granddaughter of his partner under the covers of his bed.
The subject was formalized after a seven-year-old girl recorded him lying down with his 11-year-old sister.
When they saw that the man was detained and that a complaint that had been filed on July 17 was finally taken into account, the victim’s parents broke the silence. They never suspected him, or the close relationship he had with the girl.

In conversation with 24 Hours Central, the father maintained that the fact that the girls “have seen each other on all social networks, across the country or around the world, makes us quite uncomfortable, worried because their exposure was too much”. They add that the videos were uploaded by the youngest daughter by chance.
“Every person with five fingers in front will understand that there was abuse,” says the mother.

One of the statements that has drawn attention is that of the paternal grandmother of the girls and partner of the accused, who said that she puts her hands to the fire for him: “I know it’s not like that”. Her son, the father of the minor, did not want to refer directly to her mother’s sayings, although she still maintained that. “I don’t feel anything. She will have her conscience, she will have to think and see how she is acting, but she knows she lost.”

Meanwhile, the victim’s mother now thinks that “I didn’t know that giving gifts was, deep down, giving her the girl’s body. Now you understand why when we went to the fair, she stayed there.”
Collío was well known in the neighborhood, where he was characterized by being friendly, supportive and calm. For this reason, his neighbors were also shocked when they learned that he had other complaints of abuse in 2009. From this, the question that parents now ask is what would have happened if the videos were not viralized.
Regarding this issue, the minor’s father remembers what happened when he tried to report for the first time: “I called the Prosecutor’s Office, they challenged me. Then they told me that I should do it indirectly because she is a minor, I did it and they kept calling the following week … I was very poorly treated, they almost gave it to me reluctantly”.
The truth is that now Collío was formalized for repeated sexual abuse, and was in preventive prison for being considered a danger to society.
