Chicago’s Migrant Crisis Deepens as Thousands Remain in Police Stations Amidst Intense Cold

As of October 30, Chicago has received at least 19,800 migrants, of which 2,790 remain in police stations waiting to be placed in shelters. The intense cold is already reaching the city, with temperatures in the high 20’s, which could worsen the crisis. Most asylum seekers come from countries with tropical climates, facing these frigid conditions for the first time.
