Chicago.- If you are struggling to have a family and want to turn to medicine to do so, there is a local organization that can help you by providing treatment grants to couples facing infertility issues.
According to studies, one in eight couples suffers from inability to conceive.
“It’s not really rare, it’s pretty common,” said reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Jennifer Hirschfeld. Cytron. She is also vice president of the Chicago Coalition for Family Building.

One of the most common procedures, in vitro fertilization can cost more than $35,000.
“Infertility is a disease defined by the WHO [Organización Mundial de la Salud] but unfortunately insurance doesn’t see it that way universally,” Hirschfeld-Cytron said.
The nonprofit organization provides grants of up to $10,000, including a free course of in vitro fertilization for families unable to conceive on their own, Fox 32 Chicago reported.
“Donates grants for IVF services, so IVF treatment, in addition to cash grants that can be used for adoption or egg donor or sperm donor, gestational carrier,” added the galena.
Grants are available to same-sex and heterosexual couples. Applications will be accepted until June 1.
