Chicago (USA), (EFE).- The Chicago Fire, in the debut as a starter for Mexican defender Alonso Aceves, thrashed House 3-0 in the Chicago derby and advanced to the round of 32 of the US Open.
The Fire was officially local, but left Soldier Field for a day and went to Seat Geek Stadium to play the derby against Chicago House, a club that competes in the National Independent Soccer Association, equivalent to the third division of American soccer.
Curiously, House played their home games at Seat Geek Stadium until last year, before moving to DePaul College Prep this year.
The Fire won 3-0 without breaking a sweat, with a goal from Poland’s Kacper Przybylko (m.26) and a brace from defender Kendall Burks (m.37 and m.70).
Coach Ezra Hendrickson took advantage of the duel to rotate elements such as the Swiss Xherdan Shaqiri and gave a starting shirt to the Argentine Federico Navarro, who is recovering sensations after a serious muscle injury suffered on the first day of the MLS
Also starting for the first time in his Chicago experience was Aceves, who played an unusual left winger position.
The Mexican, raised in Pachuca and a former Real Oviedo player, gave the assist for Burks’ momentary 2-0 win. The Venezuelan Miguel Navarro, for his part, assisted in the target of Przybylko’s 1-0.
