Chicago: corn rises again due to a Chinese purchase

Chicago-traded corn rose for the second straight day on Tuesday, driven by a significant purchase by China. Soybeans and wheat, meanwhile, fell.

Beijing bought 1.46 million tons of corn from US producers, the Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced. It is the second high-volume Chinese purchase in two days.

The bushel of wheat for June delivery closed at $ 6.9800 against $ 6.9975 on Monday, down 0.25%.

The bushel of corn for July delivery closed at $ 6.5825 versus $ 6.5250 on Monday, up 0.88%.

And soybeans for July ended at $ 15.7425 versus $ 15.8750 a bushel, down 0.83%.
