Chicago Bears and DJ Moore renew contract for more than 100 million dollars

Los Chicago Bears They reinforced their offensive from within once the NFL Draft, extending the contract of D.J. Mooretheir star WR, until the conclusion of the 2029 season of the NFL. The new contract extends his stay with the Illinois franchise from 2026 to 2029 -by four seasons— in exchange for $110 million dollars con $82.6 million insuredthat is, a 75% of his contract.
This is the second extension of Moore’s career: the first extension was achieved in Carolina Panthers in 2022 —when he was under contract for the fifth-year option— this being three years for $61.9 million with $41.6 million guaranteed. Moore —in six seasons of career— More than $120 million has already been secured; and according to Adam Schefter it becomes the first receiver in league history to have the first ten years of his career guaranteed.
Moore was Selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft (24° global) by the aforementioned Panthers, being the first recipient to be chosen in that class. In his five years with the Charlotte franchise, Moore was a key piece of the offense, accumulating 5,536 yards y 21 TDs from scrimmageall despite the irregular play of its QBs; after Chicago’s arrival to Moore would have the best season of his careeraccumulating 1,385 yards y 9 TDs from scrimmage.
DJ Moore and a new contract extension
Let us remember that DJ Moore’s arrival in Chicago came after Carolina sent him —along with two first- and second-round picks— in exchange for the first overall selection of 2023which became Bryce Young. As we said before, The 2023 season was Moore’s best statisticallyin every sense: he surpassed his passing yardage records (1,364) and of scrimmageof targets (132) y catches (96), percentage of passes caught (72.7%), and TDs. In addition, for PFF Not only was it his best season (with a Offensive rating of 89.3) but also entered the top 10 receivers both for his offensive grade and his grade running routes (89.5).
The Moore extension It joins other major extensions and acquisitions that the franchise has made in recent months.: They sent a fourth round pick in exchange for the former receiver LA Chargers, Keenan Allen; signed to D’Andre Swift from Philadelphia Eagles; and they spread out their CB —named to second team All-Pro— Jaylon Johnson by four years and $76 million dollars.
