Chiari launches the blue that improves its primacy. At the Galà dei Castelli in Bellinzona, the Italian record holder and Bellò shine with the Olympic pass in the 800m. For Gimbo, a public party, his wife Chiara as coach and fourth place
Roberta Bruni is there. One week before the end of the World Championships in Budapest, the Italian auction record holder returns to the competition in Chiari (Brescia) and adds a centimeter to last year’s 4.72, stamping the standard for Paris. Well done also Elisa Molinarolo, the world finalist who rises to 4.68 by adding 3 centimeters to the best done in Hungary. “I’m speechless – exults Bruni – I don’t want to be controversial because it’s not my style, but I hope this measure can silence those who criticized me in an unworthy way after the World Cup. The credit for this measure is partly due to Elisa Molinarolo: having a rival at home, on my heels, leads me to jump higher and higher and I really hope that next year she too can go to the Olympics with the ‘minimum’ direct”.
Tamberi saluta
—
Gianmarco Tamberi’s last race of the year at the Galà dei Castelli in Bellinzona (Switzerland) is above all a public celebration for the blue world gold medalist now on vacation, but still able to finish 4th at 2.24. The evening, rather, smiles at Zaynab Dosso, just one cent away from her Italian record of the 100m, and at Elena Bellò, under 2′ in the 800 meters for the first time this season with an Olympic pass for Paris 2024. “I was exhausted, but I wanted to keep the commitment made before the World Cup – Tamberi explained – I wanted to be there because the warmth of this crowd remains in my heart and gives me the strength to keep believing in dreams. In Canton Ticino a few days ago I also celebrated my first wedding anniversary with Chiara who today was my ‘coach’ (on the video, ed) because I rightly sent my coaches on vacation”. The Ukrainian Andriy Protsenko wins with 2.24 in the first, ahead of Stefano Sottile and the Pole Norbert Kobielski (2.24 in the second attempt) and Tamberi, fourth with 2.24 in the third and last jump.
What a bump
—
Zaynab Dosso, included in the B final of the 100 meters, darts a hundredth from the national record tied at the Budapest World Championships in battery (11″14 like Manuela Levorato), an 11″15 (0.0) which still leaves room for improvement. At the end of the evening, only the Jamaican Thompson-Herah (10”92), the British Lansiquot (10”99) and the Gambian Bass (11”12) did better than the Italian, who will close the season on Wednesday at the Palio della Quercia in Rovereto. In the same Dosso series also the 11”92 by Chiara Melon. In the men, the best is Eric Marek with 10″47 (0.0), third in final B.
Finally Bello
—
For the first time this season, Elena Bellò runs the 800m in 1’59″15 and finishes in 7th place hitting the standard for the Paris 2024 Olympics (1’59″30). She wins the Jamaican Goule in 1’57 ”53. In the 400 meters Davide Re is still 2nd as in Zurich with 45″70, in the wake of the Dutchman Bonevacia (45″43). She placed third in the 200 meters for Dalia Kaddari with 22. ”86 (+0.2) behind the American Clark (22” 64) and the Jamaican Forbes (22 ”74). In the 1500m Pietro Arese tries to take the lead in the bell but suffers in the final and has to settle for 7th place in 3’35″85 in the sprint won by the Kenyan Cheruiyot (3’33″98). Eleonora Marchiando closes the 400hs in 4th place in 55”35 in the evening-catwalk of the Dutch Femke Bol who confirms the season’s unbeaten run between 400m and 400m hurdles. Mario Lambrughi in the lap with barriers is 5th in Final B with 50″35, while the fastest series goes to the Brazilian Alison Dos Santos (47″50).
