University Wellness Programs Offer Spring Semester Support

As the academic year nears its conclusion, the University is emphasizing well-being through a series of initiatives. The center for Health Education adn Wellness (CHEW) Employee Wellness Program is providing diverse opportunities designed to support the health and wellness of faculty, staff, and students. These programs range from stress reduction techniques and the cultivation of healthy habits to the encouragement of meaningful social connections.
National walking Day Scavenger Hunt
April 2, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Lace up your walking shoes and participate in the National Walking Day Scavenger Hunt along the Royal Mile.Participants can walk individually or in groups,checking in at six designated points. completion of the scavenger hunt enters participants into a drawing for prizes. No advance registration is required for this event.

In collaboration with Human resources, Employee Wellness is hosting a spring Lunch and Learn session for staff and faculty. Julia Johnson, a licensed mental health counselor and educator from ENI – Total Well-Being Solutions, will present on Navigating Relationships at Work.
the presentation will be held in the Moskovitz Theater–the DeNaples Center room 401, followed by a complimentary lunch in the Fresh Food Company on the 3rd Floor.
Sleep Challenge: The Sky’s the Limit for Better Sleep!
April 7-27 (registration closed April 3)
Prioritizing sleep is crucial for overall well-being, impacting mood, concentration, and physical health. CHEW’s annual three-week Sleep Challenge encourages participants to become more aware of their sleep patterns and adopt habits that promote better rest. Participants are encouraged to track their sleep and will have the prospect to win prizes for consistent tracking.

Wellness Wednesday Workshops

CHEW’s employee Wellness Program,in partnership with the Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Departments,presents a two-part Wellness Wednesday workshop series. These workshops focus on enhancing health through improved sleep and strength training techniques.

- April 16, Protect and Strengthen: The Link between Strength Training and Bone Health presented by Physical Therapy Doctoral Students

Weekly Wellness Classes
The University offers a variety of drop-in wellness classes designed to alleviate stress and enhance physical fitness. These classes are available to students, faculty, and staff.Note that classes marked with an asterisk (*) are exclusively for faculty and staff.
