India’s Test veteran Cheteshwar Pujara followed by giving a strong message to the selectors for being out of the West Indies Test series. The 35-year-old scored a stunning century for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy semi-final against Central Zone.
Pujara faced 266 balls and remained unbeaten on 132 runs with 14 fours and a six. With this, Pujara, who scored his 60th century in first-class cricket, joined the feat of former Indian captain Vijay Hazare.
Pujara’s brilliant innings took West Zone’s first innings lead past 300. When the information was finally received, West Zone had scored 291 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the second innings. Currently, West Zone has a lead of 383 runs.
West Zone were bowled out for 220 in the first innings. Pujara could score only 28 runs then. In reply batting, the struggle of the central zone was limited to 128.
