The Chery brand now has only one model in Russia with all-wheel drive – the flagship Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max. Now the younger crossover – Tiggo 7 Pro Max – is preparing to get a 4×4 transmission
Crossover Tiggo 7 Pro Max entered the Russian market at the beginning of this year. Like the version without the “Max” prefix, it is now offered only with a 1.5 turbo engine (147 hp), a CVT and front-wheel drive. The start of sales of the all-wheel drive modification should take place before the end of July.
The novelty received a different power unit – 1.6 turbo (150 hp) with a 7-speed robot with two clutches. The Omoda C5 crossover, which got all-wheel drive in March, has the same stuffing. The Tiggo 7 Pro Max all-wheel drive system was developed by Chery together with the German concern ZF Friedrichshafen AG. It is characterized by a quick connection of the rear axle: the response time is within 0.1 s. It is noted that up to 50% of torque is transmitted to the rear wheels, and the system varies the distribution of traction along the axles with an accuracy of ± 10%.
The transmission has 6 modes: eco, comfort, sport, snow, dirt and 4×4.
Clearance has not yet been announced, but off-road qualities are emphasized. For example, it is reported that the car is able to storm climbs with a maximum slope of 45%.
Prices and configurations of Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max AWD will be announced one of these days.
For front-wheel drive versions, they are now asking from 2.76 to 3.04 million rubles, excluding special offers.
