Vice President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI), Harry Komara alias Harkam, explained that these records were the result of accumulated sales at a number of national exhibitions.
“At GIIAS 2023 yesterday, because we just brought it there, there were 100 SPKs. Then at the BCA Expo for three days, a total of 40 SPKs. Then GIIAS Surabaya 2023 had 78,” said Harkam when met by media crew in South Tangerang, recently .

According to Harkam, the sales figures are quite good. Because, as stated at the beginning, the Chery Omoda 5 EV does not yet have a price and will only be officially launched next year.
“In my opinion, the enthusiasm for this is very big because existing electric car products are expensive. Meanwhile, the ones below are too small. Other manufacturers are also just starting to talk, if we have promised delivery next year,” he said.
The high level of public enthusiasm for the Omoda 5 EV cannot be separated from the global trend towards futurist and modern electric SUVs. So, according to him, his party was right to bring the vehicle to Indonesia.
“Omoda is really hyped globally. Here, too, the stories that come to me are fragrant,” he stressed.

It is known that the Chery Omoda 5 EV has been presented several times at national exhibitions. The vehicle, according to Harkam, will be positioned as a premium electric car at an affordable price.
Apart from that, the Chery Omoda 5 EV will also be assembled in Indonesia using Handal’s production facilities in Bekasi, West Java. Meanwhile, the level of local content is being sought to reach 40 percent.
“The point is that Chinese cars are affordable, good quality, good design, competitive (price). We will do CKD in Indonesia. The government’s target is 40 percent TKDN in 2026, we have to pursue that, so what can be made here we make it in here,” he said.
