Chery Omoda 5 EV at Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2023: Order, Price, and Features

Chery took part in the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2023 exhibition. The event also served as the introduction stage for Chery Omoda 5 EV.

During the 11 days of holding GIIAS 2023, Chery recorded 576 Vehicle Order Letters (SPK). The majority of Indonesian consumers buy Chery Omoda 5 with a total order of 376 units.

Even though Chery Omoda EV doesn’t have an official price yet, the electric car from China can already be ordered with a booking fee of IDR 10 million. How much SPK Chery Omoda 5 EV?

“The total of 100 SPK for the eleven days of holding GIIAS 2023 is the answer to the trust in the brand and technological innovation that is developed and produced independently by Chery. We are very pleased with the positive response and trust from Indonesian consumers to the Chery Brand with OMODA 5 EV as one of the products. superior,” said Shawn Xu, President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) and Vice President of Chery International.

Chery plans to produce Omoda 5 EV locally on a CKD basis (Completely Knocked Down). Furthermore, in early 2024, Chery plans to present premium products for the Indonesian market with electric vehicle variants.

For information, Chery assembles the car at the assembly facility owned by Reliable Indonesia Motor in the Pondok Ungu area, Bekasi, West Java. Previously, Chery cars such as the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro had also been CKD assembled at the factory.

On paper, Omoda 5 EV has a power of 15 KWh/100 km with a range of 450 km when the battery is full. Safety features are also one of the main focuses of this car, as evidenced by obtaining the five (5) E-NCAP safety certification for the European automotive market and A-NCAP for markets outside Europe.

Omoda 5 EV is said to be equipped with various excellent features ready to captivate Indonesian consumers. One of the highlights, of course, is the 14 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) feature to improve safety while driving.

The 14 ADAS features include ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking), LDP (Lane Departure Prevention), ELK (Emergency Lane Keeping, TJA (Traffic Jam Assist), FCW (Forward Collision Warning), SLA , IES, LDW (Lane Departure Warning), RCTA (Rear Cross Traffic Alert), and RCTB (Rear Cross Traffic Assist with Braking). Besides ADAS, Omoda 5 EV is also equipped with 6 Airbags.

Slightly slide into the interior, Omoda 5 EV will have a large screen panel on the dashboard with a size of 24.6 inches, also accompanied by an ambient light of up to 64 colors. This car will reportedly also be equipped with Intelligent Voice Command and driving mode.

Chery Omoda 5 EV will also support the Vehicle to Load feature which can function as a running generator, then there is also the Driver Monitor System, which will also be equipped with the 8155 chip made by Qualcomm.
