Chery recorded 578 vehicle order letters (SPK) during the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). One of its products was awarded the title of favorite car for GIIAS 2023 visitors. How much was the sales portion?
“We are very pleased with this achievement at GIIAS 2023. A total of 576 SPK is proof of the Indonesian automotive market’s increasingly strong confidence in Chery products,” said Shawn Xu, President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia who also serves as Vice President of Chery International in a statement quoted on Friday (25 /8/2023).
As is known, Chery has marketed Chery Omoda 5, Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. The favorite car for GIIAS 2023 visitors goes to Chery Omoda 5.
SPK dominance came from Chery OMODA 5, with 376 units followed by Chery Omoda 5 EV, Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro.
“With this achievement, Chery is increasingly optimistic that it will continue to excel as a manufacturer in the premium SUV category,” said Shawn Xu.
Chery is still open to ordering Omoda 5 EV with a booking fee of IDR 10 million, the official price has not been announced yet. Products that have been officially sold by Chery in Indonesia include Omoda 5 starting from IDR 334,8000,000, Tiggo 7 PRO starting from IDR 369,500,000, and Tiggo 8 Pro starting from IDR 528,500,000.
To tempt Indonesian consumers, Chery provides a 10 year/1,000,000 km engine guarantee, a 6 year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, free maintenance or service at all authorized Chery Indonesia dealers for 4 years/60,000 km.
Compared to SPK figures for other Chinese brands, Chery still loses to Wuling which claims to have recorded a total of 1,771 vehicle order letters (SPK). However, Chery’s figure is still higher than Neta’s. In the 11 days of the GIIAS exhibition, Neta recorded a total of 162 units of SPK.
