The “Sharks” could have achieved a much more convincing success. They dominated the entire 90 minutes, but made a bunch of mistakes in front of the opposition goal.
Chernomorets decided everything in their favor in the closing moments of the first half.
In the 44th minute, the score was opened by a penalty awarded for a handball in the penalty area by a player from the visitors. From the penalty spot, Zhikov Petkov was accurate for 1:0.
In the one-minute stoppage time, the Sharks doubled their lead. Mihail Mihov received the ball in the penalty area and with a measured shot stretched the net for 2:0.
In the second half, the “blues” continued to be the more active team, created quite a few chances, but never managed to score another goal.
Todor Chavorski, Oleksandr Klimenko, Hristo Penev, Ramis Ismailov and Stoyan Kizhev appeared in the game, replacing Zhivko Petkov, Dimo Bakalov, Georgi Gospodinov, Stanislav Malamov and Hidayet Husein.
In the fourth round, on August 24, Chernomorets visited Sayana in Haskovo.
