Stanyiszlag Cherchesov was forced to replace Adnan Kovacevic due to an injury in the championship match that ended in a 1-1 draw against Kecskemét, and after the match he revealed that, apart from him, neither Bálint Vécsei nor Xavier Mercier came off the field completely healthy.
The list can be expanded. The lineup against Kecskemét reveals that Tokmac didn’t play either, because he was also injured, and Besic, who tore his knee ligament in Kisvárda, is already out of surgery, but Owusu Kwabena, who was confirmed in the winter and made his debut against Paks with a goal, was also sidelined in the meantime.
Cherchesov also provided additional details. As a not unique case, the latest news came back to Hungary from Russia. The Portal 129 Üllői út watched the interview with the Russian coach of Ferencváros in the Russian press, in which the professional lamented as follows:
– I would prefer if we started the Europa League at home, but as far as I know, we will start away. If so, so be it. What is more important is the state in which we approach these matches. Unfortunately, we lost two of our key players, both defensive midfielders. Laidouni left for Germany, and Besic suffered a serious injury: he was already operated on in Innsbruck, he will hardly return before the end of the year. Tokmac is also injured now, as is the rookie Owusu, who we managed to name for El. Another of our new players, Péter Baráth, who recently arrived from Debrecen, was not able to be named, but he still has problems with his leg. So we have something to think about.
