Paris (AFP) – The American singer Cher closed the show of the French house Balmain on Wednesday evening, which her stylist star Olivier Rousteing has transformed into a festival of music and diversity.
The parade began with Cher on a screen saying, “We all make it up. Some of us just have more imagination than others.”

The final release of the black models in textured dresses marked the highlight of the show, some in corsets and accompanied by a song by Youssou N’Dour with the lyrics: “And when a baby is born, he has no idea what tone he lives in. Skin.”
After the parade ended, emerging Nigerian Afrobeat star CKay performed on stage in front of thousands of people who watched the show.
Glamor permeated the Balmain event, with the presence of celebrities including American singer and actress Dove Cameron, Belgian singer Stromae and American reality TV star and Rousteing’s close friend Kylie Jenner.
On the runway, Ashley Graham, a round American star, presented a look by Olivier Rousteing, one of the few black or mixed-race designers in the world of luxury and a fervent advocate of diversity.
