Chennai Police Moves to Freeze Assets of BJP Leader and Actor RK Suresh in Arudra Fraud Case

Chennai – Police has moved to freeze the assets of BJP leader and actor RK Suresh, who did not appear despite being summoned several times in the Arudra fraud case. The police department investigating financial crimes submitted the proposal to the authorities in this regard.

Suresh filed a petition in the Madras High Court against the move to freeze the assets, but the High Court directed him to approach a special court under the Tamil Nadu Protection of Investors Act (TNPID).

Last year, the Economic Offenses Department had registered a case against Arudra Gold Trading Company for cheating people by offering interest of up to Rs 30,000 on an investment of Rs 1 lakh. A case has been registered against 40 people for defrauding around 1 lakh people and extorting Rs 2438 crore.

22 people including BJP leader Harish, company director Bhaskar, Mohanbabu, Senthil Kumar, Nagaraj, Ayyappan and Rousseau were arrested. The investigating team had found that actor RK Suresh had received Rs 12 crore in the incident.

After the court rejected the anticipatory bail plea, RK Suresh, who went absconding in Dubai, was summoned several times but did not appear. A lookout notice was also issued against him. Due to this, the process was started to freeze the property.
