After more than a month of fighting in the north and south, the Chengdu Sports Delegation once again participated in the National Comprehensive Games as a city unit after 8 years. It won a total of 21 golds, 19 silvers and 21 bronzes. Among the 69 participating delegations, it ranked first Ranked 6th in the gold medal list, 6th in the medal list, and 4th in the overall score list, fully completing the goal of “leading in the west and first-class in the country” set by the regiment before the competition.
On November 6, the track and field events (open group) of the First National Student (Youth) Games ended. The Chengdu Sports Delegation won 8 golds, 4 silvers and 2 bronzes, ranking first among all participating delegations and the first city to participate in the event. What is even more commendable is that the new generation of Sichuan women’s sprint athletes represented by Liu Yinglan, Liu Guoyi and Liu Xiajun are working hard to open another glorious era for Sichuan’s Chinese sprint after the 1997 National Games. Liu Yinglan said: “I will aim at the ‘Asian Flying Star’ Li Xuemei, work hard and achieve great results again!” In addition to track and field, the cycling event has also made a lot of contributions to the Chengdu Sports Delegation. In the competition, the Chengdu Sports Delegation won a total of 4 gold medals, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. The number of gold medals ranked first among the 34 participating teams. This laid a solid foundation for the Chengdu Sports Delegation to surpass history in terms of gold medals. In addition, in the rowing event that they are not good at, the Chengdu Sports delegation also won 3 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronzes. The number of gold medals ranked second only to the Nanjing team.
