Chemnitz: access to shops and events only with a negative corona test?

With a negative corona test in shops or at events? Chemnitz will test several apps in the coming weeks.

As the city announced, several apps will be tested in the coming weeks, which should make it easier for shops and events to open soon.

For this purpose, we work together with various partners and check the “process chain”, which should look like this:

Installing the app, performing a quick test and saving the result, access to facilities or events with the negative test result in the app.

The possibility of contact tracing by the health department in the event of contact with infected people will also play a very important role.

With these digital solutions, operators and organizers can more easily provide evidence, data protection is better implemented, and health authorities can also react more quickly to interrupt chains of infection.

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze (49, SPD): “The desire for openings and a way back to a ‘normal’ life is very understandable. As long as the pandemic is still active, we must try to ensure that infections are followed up These systems support us, and I hope that many people from Chemnitz will accompany us on this path after the test phase. “

Because it is still the top priority to break infection chains quickly and to be able to track contacts of corona infected people within the shortest possible time.

In order to be able to make openings faster and safer under the infection protection conditions, these digital paths should serve – not just as an app on the smartphone.

After a test phase, the systems that prove to be suitable will then be used in Chemnitz.

The federal and state governments agreed on Wednesday to extend the lockdown in principle to March 28th. However, there is an opening strategy with a “built-in emergency brake” (TAG24 reported). The important elements for further openings should be vaccination and testing.
