Ludwigshafen. Now things are getting serious for the bowlers of Chemie Premnitz. After second place in the northern season behind BSV 2000 Oldenburg, coach Peter Lorenz’s protégés have qualified for the final match day, which takes place on Saturday, August 20th in Ludwigshafen.

Kassel is waiting in the semifinals
“The boys are in a good mood,” says Peter Lorenz, who had to compete with his team in a new format this season. Instead of free-for-all in six different locations, this time it was a matter of home and away matches. The two best teams from each season will now play the title among themselves on the day of the final. In the semi-finals, chemistry meets the long-time rival from Kassel. “Kassel is the favourite, but in the end you still play against the railways,” says Lorenz, who is currently the national coach at the European Women’s Championship in Denmark and is therefore represented by Tobias Gäbler.
“Are mentally fit”
“We were definitely more quick-witted from the training workload, since we’ve just come back from vacation, but we’re mentally rested and in top shape,” says Tobias Gäbler, who is not deputizing for the head coach for the first time and would have preferred to have had the first opponent from Kassel in the final . The other semi-final is contested by BSV 2000 Oldenburg and BK Munich. Chemie Premnitz starts with Tobias Gäbler, Frank Drevenstedt, Dennis Grünheid, Lars Tangermann, Paul Purps and Max Lorenz. “We have to be focused from the start and have the knife between our teeth from the first throw,” says player coach Tobias Gäbler.
