The BSG Chemie Leipzig prevailed on the 7th matchday of the Regionalliga Nordost with a 1-0 (0-0) victory against the U23 of Hertha BSC.
Berlin – The next away win! the BSG Chemie Leipzig has on the 7th day of the Regionalliga Nordost with a 1-0 (0-0) win against the U23 of Hertha BSC prevailed and defeated the home side for the first time ever.

In front of 588 spectators in the Berlin amateur stadium, Timo Mauer scored the golden goal for the green-whites (48th minute).
BSG coach Miroslav Jagatic changed to three positions compared to the 0-1 home defeat against SV Lichtenberg 47 last Tuesday. Florian Brügmann, Manuel Wajer and Anton Kanther stayed on the bench. Instead, Timo Mauer, Lucas Surek and the most recently injured striker Stephane Mvibudulu were on the pitch from the start.
After Hertha’s 1-0 win against Chemnitzer FC on Wednesday, Hertha coach Ante Covic relied on an almost completely new team – only captain Tony Fuchs, goal scorer Timur Gayret and attacker Ali Abu-Alfa were allowed to play again. With Daishawn Redan, there was also a Dutch U17 European champion who is usually part of the professional squad.

Hertha showed a clear increase in chances during the first half, especially Redan, who missed the best opportunity a few minutes before the break (41st). The BSG, on the other hand, held up confidently, but could not set any offensive accents. Instead of top-class people at the gates, the audience experienced more dramatic moments. After a cross from Surek, Alexander Bury headed the ball on goal, but collided with Christalino Atemona in the air and initially remained motionless on the ground (45th + 1).
Fortunately, after anxious minutes in which he was treated, the man with the number seven was able to leave the square on his own. According to a Facebook post by the club, he is doing well so far. So it went with the goalless draw in the lockers.

In the second half, less than three minutes had been played, the green-whites showed what they are really capable of! Mauer left Hertha captain Fuchs and pulled from an acute angle from the right – that was the somewhat surprising 1-0 lead for the guests (48th). Hertha’s goalkeeper Marcel Lotka was not entirely innocent, he didn’t close the corner properly.
After that, there was still not much to see from the Leipzigers offensively, but were they able to bring the narrow lead over the time?
Next moment of shock in the 66th minute! On the slippery pitch, Redan rushed foot first into BSG keeper Benjamin Bellot during an attack and hit him in the head (66th). It looked painful, but Bellot got up quickly. Lucky for Redan that he only got to see the yellow box from the referee.

Despite a lot of fresh forces at Hertha, the equalization just didn’t want to succeed. Although Chemie defended the lead with full commitment, inaccuracies and mistakes gradually crept into the home side. So the green-whites finally won against the Berliners – for the first time in the Regionalliga Nordost.
The BSG will continue with the home game against the next Friday (7 p.m.) Chemnitzer FC. At the same time, Hertha is a guest at FSV Union Fürstenwalde.
