Chelyabinsk Resident Sent to Pre-Trial Detention for Beating Former Policeman and Ukraine War Veteran to Death

The court sent to pre-trial detention a resident of the Chelyabinsk region who beat a former policeman and participant to death special operations in Ukraine by Maxim Nikitin.

“In the Chelyabinsk region, at the request of the investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia, a man accused of causing the death of a local resident was chosen by the court as a preventive measure in the form of detention,” the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region reported today, September 25.

At the same time, the department does not mention the names of the participants in the conflict.

According to the decision of the Kartali City Court, the 18-year-old MMA fighter Rustam Baizhumenov taken into custody for a month and 28 days – until November 20. A criminal case has been opened against him for intentionally causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death (Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

On September 15, in the village of Kaolinovy, Baizhumenov beat to death a member of the Northern Military District in Ukraine, a combat veteran Maxim Nikitin.
