London –
Chelsea so down this season. Raheem Sterling said that sometimes his colleagues could only stare dumbfoundedly at his fate.
Chelsea are in poor form this season. The change of owner brought turbulence within the team.
Managers have changed, from Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, to now being coached by Frank Lampard. The result remains the same, namely sag performance.
Tuchel’s replacement for Potter did not go well, until the England manager was sacked. Lampard then came, and also failed to save the team’s performance.
Recently coached by Lampard, Chelsea lost five games in a row. The latest bad result was being beaten by Brentford 0-2 in the Premier League, Wednesday (27/4) early morning WIB.
Apart from being eliminated from the Champions League, The Blues are now increasingly scattered in the Premier League standings. Kai Havertz et al are still falling in 11th place with just gaining 39 points, the results of 10 wins, 9 draws and 13 defeats.
The poor performance was not in line with Chelsea’s shopping activities. The Blue actually recruited many stars at high prices, including Sterling himself.
The player who was bought from Manchester City said that his colleagues were now confused. He explained that sometimes Chelsea players could only stare at their luck in the locker room.
“Sometimes you are at rock bottom. I have never been in this situation in my career so far but I am more than up for the challenge,” said Sterling, who has just seven goals and three assists, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“We were disappointed when we came off the pitch, feeling angry and disappointed. There were times when we finished a game, you just sat in the locker room looking into space because you didn’t understand what had just happened.”
“It’s hard to accept. You always try to find a positive solution,” said the England international.
