London –
The line of attackers Chelsea hasn’t scored many goals yet. Will Chelsea need to sign a new striker this summer?
Chelsea only produced 15 goals in 12 games together Thomas Tuchel. Lastly, The Blues held to a draw by Leeds United 0-0 in the Premier League last weekend.
Timo Werner, who was recruited at the start of this season, has only produced five goals in 28 appearances in the Premier League. The German striker has scored 10 goals in 38 games in all competitions overall.
Tammy Abraham is slightly better by scoring six goals in the Premier League, for a total of 12 goals in all competitions. However, no Chelsea striker has touched double-digit goals in the Premier League.
However, Thomas Tuchel admits that he is still happy with the options he has in Chelsea’s attack line.
“In general I’m happy because we don’t just look at the final result, how many goals they score, how many assists,” Tuchel said as quoted by Tuchel. Mirror.
“Of course this is something, a statistic that is tied to every striker and everyone has to have the mentality to deal with the pressure that comes with statistics. This is what football is like at a high level.”
“But I have to say right now everyone is working hard, nobody is lazy, nobody pauses when we defend. We stay high, we defend as a block.”
Thomas Tuchel admits that Chelsea doesn’t need to do that for striker spending this summer.
“We are still looking for a bit of a breakthrough for one or two people to run and score goals consistently. Obviously that is not the case at the moment and we will not stop pushing and looking for solutions to create cleaner opportunities for them,” continued Tuchel.
“That is, but now there is no need to think about the summer or a solution other than the solution we have. We have players we like and who have the potential to be more decisive, and we will try to help them,” he said.
