Chelsea are starting to have doubts about signing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, despite their desire to settle the Romelu Lukaku situation as soon as possible.
Page five of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how the Blues have no intention of keeping the Belgian striker beyond this summer, wanting to cut their losses and move on after his disastrous transfer of around 113 million euros from Inter in August 2021.
Chelsea have been in close contact with Juventus in recent weeks, discussing a potential swap deal involving Lukaku and Vlahovic, a player who has struggled to show his best under Massimiliano Allegri.
However, the Premier League outfit are starting to have doubts over the swap deal. Juventus want a €40m fee on top of Lukaku for Vlahovic, and Mauricio Pochettino is apparently unsure about the Serbian striker’s suitability.
Behdad Eghbaly, the partner of Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, opposes the deal, saying the terms are not suitable for west London.
