He saw Chelsea have serious confidence problems and confusion on the pitch. The high price attached to Caicedo, and also to his partner in the middle, namely Enzo Fernandez, also adds to the burden.
In the end Caicedo and Fernandez played with fear, which actually made them prone to mistakes.
“I think the problem is confidence for the Chelsea players, as well as how to get them to click and change their mindset. They are not bad players, but they don’t know what to do,” Leboeuf told ESPN quoted Metro.
“The only thing they think is ‘I don’t want to lose the ball’, which is why we see Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo and a few other players not taking risks.”
“They don’t want to be cheered on and they don’t want to be criticized, so they have to act safely. That’s why,” he added.
