Chelsea striker Marc Guiu has revealed who his footballing idols are and one of them is a player all too familiar to Blues fans.
Guiu arrived from Barcelona earlier this summer after Chelsea activated the €6m release clause in his contract and he’s impressed in pre-season.
The 18-year-old scored his first goal for the club in last week’s 3-0 win against Club America and if he continues to impress in Chelsea’s final two games he could well be part of the squad for the upcoming season.
Despite signing the teenager Chelsea are believed to still be in the market for another centre forward to compete with Nicolas Jackson.
Interest in Jhon Duran and Jonathan David has cooled whilst they have had multiple bids rejected by Atletico Madrid for Samu Omorodion.
Guiu has impressed for Chelsea in pre-season.
Most recently the Blues have been strongly linked again with Victor Osimhen and discussions have taken place over the possibility of the Nigerian being involved as part of the deal which would see Romelu Lukaku join Napoli.
If Guiu continues to impress then he could potentially save Chelsea millions in the transfer market this summer, and the former Barcelona man took time out to discuss his move to the club and who his football idols were.

In a recent interview Guiu revealed his idols were Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Luis Suarez and Lautaro Martinez, and if he can get anywhere near replicating their goal scoring exploits he will likely have a very successful career.
The Spaniard is still unsure if he will be at the club next season or not with a final decision over whether he will go out on loan set to be taken after pre-season, but if he does remain given the Blues are in the Uefa Conference League he will get plenty of opportunities to get the minutes he needs in order to continue his development.
